About Us

Our History

Windsor Country Village has been proudly run by the Edmonds family for 35 years. As one of the few independently-run strata titled retirement villages in NSW, the Village has a unique community and family relationship between the residents and management. The Edmonds family company, Tasman Securities Pty Limited, now trading as Retirement Living Services purchased the Operator and Management rights for the Village in 1987. The original developer completed the construction and the Villas were first sold from 1987. In 2020, Cynthia Hitchinson passed away aged 99 years, having lived with us at the Village for 32 years. One of our current residents is still enjoying life with us after 30 years, aged 94. Currently we have 10 residents that have lived with us at Windsor Country Village for more than 20 years. This continuity of management and residents is why there is such a very special community feel at Windsor Country Village.

Through Tasman Securities Pty Ltd,  Janet and Philip Edmonds have operated and managed Windsor Country Village. Philip Edmonds was a business and property valuer by profession. He was also a founding member of the Retirement Villages Association which prepared the original Code of Practice for retirement village management and he worked with the government on the drafting of the original Retirement Villages Act.  Philip worked with and advised the Department of Fair Trading in various capacities. Philip spent many years working with another company called Retirement Living Services advising developers, charitable organisations, churches and governments in the design, construction, operation and management of Retirement Villages. Whilst Retirement Living Services was sold in 1985, Tasman Securities has recently reacquired this trading name. Janet Edmonds, formerly a Qantas hostess and operator of Lifestyle Tours, added value to the team with her service and organisational skills assisting with the development of the strong social, family and community culture that the Village still enjoys today.

Today, Retirement Living Services is run by Kristen Edmonds, daughter of Janet and Philip. A lawyer by profession, Kristen adds value to the team with new generation ideas and a legal knowledge that is useful in dealing with the increased compliance and legislative regimes expected of Retirement Villages management today. Kristen currently sits on the Retirement Committee for the Property Council of Australia.

As a family, we strive to ensure that our Residents live in secure and comfortable environment; that each of our Residents  enjoy their independent lifestyles for as long as possible and that the Village remains an affordable haven for retirees, our extended family.
